Oregon Basset Hound Games

WADDLE:

When: July 17, 2010, 5:00 pm

Where: Downtown Woodburn. Begins at Library Park. Goes North and then East to end at the Plaza behind Lupita's restaurant. Gather at Library Park beginning at 4:00 pm. Bassets will leave the park and waddle a few blocks in historic downtown Woodburn at 5:00 pm.

Cost: Nothing! Pledges from sponsors are encouraged. Prize baskets will be awarded to the dogs who come in first, second, and third in raising pledge funds to be donated to the rescue.

Other Info: All dog on leashes. Costumes are encouraged. Please pick up after your dog. Non-bassets may waddle too, as well as children and adults. Food will be available for sale at the end of the Waddle. Bassets and their people may picnic at Library Park or the Woodburn Plaza after the Waddle is done. 

What is a Waddle: a festive parade of bassets, in costume or not, with the purpose of raising funds for the non-profit rescue.  This Waddle will be led by City of Woodburn Mayor Kathy Figley and Noodles, the honorary Mistress of Ceremonies.

And:  Cool prizes will be awarded to the top 3 fund-raising basset hounds. Gather at Library Park beginning at 4:00 pm to meet and greet old friends, and to turn in pledges.

Newly adopted basset TRUMAN eagerly awaits the 2010 Waddle and Games. Truman will attend with his brother Roland, Duke of Ears. Truman was rescued this year when people drove up to the dock at a Portland Marina, dropped him off, and then left without him. Truman was in foster care with Oregon Basset Hound Rescue for over a month before he found his forever home in Salem.

GAMES:

When: July 18, 2010, 10:30 am.

Where: Legion Park, Woodburn

Cost: $10 per dog competing. All other dogs and humans free. Medals will be awarded to top 3 finishers in games events.

Other info: All dogs on leashes. Costumes for dogs are optional, except for best costume and child-dog lookalike contests. Please pick up after your dog.

What are the games: The games are a series of fun events for basset hounds and their dogs.  All dogs competing must be registered, either thru mail or at the games on the 18th. Pre-registration forms will be mailed to all who competed in 2009.
